Soundscores For Living Scenery is a series of recorded soundworks created for specific outdoor locations in Northampton and the surrounding region. Soundscore #2 is now available and a new Soundscore will be released each month through November 2023. Created by artist Sara Smith |
Soundscores for Living Scenery incorporate original music, field recordings, and other sounds, and are designed for immersive listening to support and augment listeners’ experiences of specific environments, as soundtracks and soundscores enhance the atmosphere of a film or theatrical performance. Smith, an artist rooted in choreography and performance, is interested in how embodied knowledge and memory are informed by dynamic and intentional auditory, visual, tactile, and other sensory-motor experience.
Each month a new location and Soundscore url will be revealed. Participants will be encouraged to listen to the downloaded or streamed soundwork on-site. Headphones are recommended.
