ARC, activate, research, create, follows the success of A.P.E.'s 2016 summer series 6 x 6, and launches A.P.E.'s second curated summer program. ARC continues the investigation of a contemporary art gallery as an active space within the community. From June 26 to August 5, 2017, A.P.E. will host four projects that consist of collaborative performance, a textual interactive installation, video installation/live performance, and immersive sound installation. During each 1-2 week residency, artists will create and shape work in the gallery space, which will be open to the public through a variety of workshops, performances, and interactive installations. Each project maintains a central inquiry into the relationship between the public, the work, and the space in which it is made.
